Prime Minister Dahal in Khaptad

Khaptda: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has arrived in Khaptad. He arrived here in a Nepali Army helicopter from Surkhet’s Birendranagar.

Prime Minister Dahal has come here to inaugurate the famous religious and tourist destination Khaptad’s Ganga Dashahara Mela in Sudurpashchim Province. The event is being held at the Khaptad National Park, which covers Bajhang, Bajura, Achham, and Doti districts.

Accompanying Prime Minister Dahal are former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Foreign Minister NP Saud, Nepali Congress Chief Secretary Ramesh Lekhak, among others. Previously, Sudurpashchim Province’s Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah, former Chief Minister Rajendra Singh Rawa, and ministers of the province had also arrived in Khaptad.

During the first International Spiritual Conference held in the Khaptad region, Indian yoga guru Baba Ramdev and the head of Patanjali Yogpeeth, Acharya Balkrishna, have arrived here today by helicopter. The conference will include a yoga session by Baba Ramdev on the first day, followed by two days of yoga by Acharya Balkrishna, as informed by the Chairman of the Khaptad Tourism Development and Management Committee, Harka Bahadur Singh.

The conference will showcase popular cultural performances from the Sudurpashchim region, such as Bhunwa, Hudkauli, Gaura, Deuda, and Putala Nach. The conference will be held until Jestha 25. According to Bhim Bahadur Khadka, the Executive Director of the Khaptad Tourism and Management Committee, renowned individuals from the international spiritual community, including former prime ministers, ministers, and federal lawmakers, will also participate in the conference.

The conference is organized in collaboration with the Sudurpashchim Province Government, Tourism Board, and local authorities. Khaptad is located at an altitude of approximately 3,500 meters above sea level. It spans an area of around 225 square kilometers. Additionally, Khaptad is home to the Khaptad National Park.
