Kathmandu : In the span of five months, 61 individuals have lost their lives in incidents of road crimes and shootings in Karachi, Pakistan.

According to local Pakistani media reports, there have been 7,843 incidents of street crimes recorded in Karachi in the month of May alone.
Two days ago, in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area, armed robbers on motorcycles intercepted a university vehicle, pointing guns at the students
and teachers before fleeing the scene.

According to public outcry and local media sources, Karachi is facing significant challenges in terms of deteriorating security arrangements, affecting both the
Sindh Police and the Sindh government. In addition, Pakistani local media has recently highlighted the increase in crime as the country struggles with its ongoing
economic crisis. With a shortage of daily essential commodities, the instances of hunger have also surged.

The disappointment and dissatisfaction with the educational system have led to a rise in drug addiction among the youth. Every day, around 1,200 young people in Pakistan fall into the trap of smoking, and each year, more than one hundred thousand lives are lost due to this habit. Local communication mediums like Daily Khabar have reported that over 5,000 people are admitted to hospitals daily due to related health issues.

Pakistan is currently facing a multitude of challenges, including food crises, devaluation of currency, and power shortages, resulting in one of the worst situations the country has ever encountered.”
