Kathmandu : Jaleshwar municipality has started distributing water from tankers after the water sources within the city area have decreased.
Recently, water has stopped coming from streams, chapakal and other water sources here. Suresh Sah Sonar, head of Jaleshwar municipality informed that water is being distributed from tankers in different wards of the city. It is reported that there are 12,380 households in the Jaleshwar Nagar area, which has twelve wards, and most of the households’ taps and taps have dried up and water supply has stopped. Bechan Mahato, a land and environment expert from Madhes province, said that water sources have dried up due to the low water level in the city area.
It is said that there has never been a shortage of water in Jaleshwar. It is said that Bardibas, Gaushala, Bhangaha, Aurhi, Balwa, Ramgopalpur municipality and Samsi rural municipality located in the northern part of the district have water problems. Chief District Officer of Mahottari, Deepak Kumar Pahadi, said that work is being done to prevent shortage of drinking water.
