Kathmandu : According to the Sudanese news website Dabanga24, aerial attacks in the capital city of Khartoum resulted in the death of at least 17 civilians, including five children. The attack was reportedly carried out by the military.
According to the Sudanese independent news website Dabanga24, 17 people have been reported dead in the attack, while 11 individuals have been injured and are receiving treatment at Basir Hospital.
The hospital’s website has reported on the emergency services, mentioning these fatalities.
The report also mentions that 25 houses were destroyed in the aerial attack. A day before the airstrike, Lieutenant General Yassir Abdulrahman Hassan Al-Atta, the head of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), had indicated that the military would respond forcefully to attacks against them.
Sudan has been witnessing clashes between the army and rebel forces since April 15, leading to a large number of civilian casualties. Prior to this Saturday, the RSF had issued a statement accusing the military of conducting numerous aerial attacks and causing significant civilian casualties.
The military has neither confirmed nor denied these allegations so far.
