Kathmandu: A news report about a pregnant woman committing suicide has shocked the public in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, India. On the third day after giving birth, the woman took her own life by hanging herself in her own home.

After childbirth, the woman, aged 27, was afraid that her body wouldn’t return to normal as before. She decided to end her life, fearing that she would not be able to find employment after having a child. The conversation between the deceased woman and her husband on WhatsApp confirms this.

The incident took place in Sector 1 of Aashiyana, Lucknow. A 27-year-old foreign woman named Oksana Mamachar committed suicide by hanging herself at home.

Originally from Ukraine, Oksana had returned home just three months ago. She was living with her mother-in-law, Ruffina, and her brother-in-law, Yuhana. Her husband was pursuing a Ph.D. from a university in Ukraine.

On June 14, Oksana gave birth to a son at a private hospital. She had a normal delivery. After that, she communicated with her husband through WhatsApp chats and calls while staying in Ukraine.

According to the investigation, Oksana was worried about her body changing after giving birth. She was concerned that she wouldn’t be able to find a job without her previous physique. However, no suicide note was found at the scene.

In this state of anxiety, the pregnant woman ended her life in the storeroom of her home. At that time, their newborn son was sleeping in another room.

Upon receiving the news of the foreign woman’s suicide, the police reached the scene and sent the body for postmortem examination. They also informed the deceased woman’s husband, who was in Ukraine. The family members present at home were also questioned. Currently, the police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
