Kathmandu : Global technology giants have established new production centers in India. Following the strict control measures due to the pandemic in China, leading companies worldwide have been searching for new manufacturing locations outside China, and India has emerged as a preferred destination. Google’s parent company, Alphabet, is also aiming to produce Pixel smartphones in India and is currently seeking local suppliers for this purpose.

Google has initiated discussions with International Limited, Dixon Technologies India, and Foxconn Technology Group’s Indian branch, Foxconn India, for smartphone production in India.

Among the potential partners in these discussions, there are several companies that have received incentives under production-based encouragement schemes. Apple, the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer, is also benefiting from a similar plan to expand its production in India. The company aims to produce iPhones in India and is projected to achieve a turnover of over $7 billion from Indian production by 2022-2023.
