Kathmandu : The 14th edition of the SAFF Championship in football begins today. Under the Men’s SAFF Championship, Nepal will face strong contenders Kuwait in the opening match.

The match will take place at the Shree Kanteerava Stadium in Bangalore, India, starting at 4 PM local time according to Nepali time. Nepal has plans to make a successful start by defeating Kuwait in the competition. However, it won’t be easy for Nepal to defeat a strong team like Kuwait.

The SAFF Championship features the participation of 8 nations. In Group A, Nepal is placed alongside former champions India, Kuwait, and Pakistan, while Group B consists of Lebanon, Maldives, Bhutan, and Bangladesh.

Among the 8 teams, Kuwait and Lebanon have been invited as guest teams to compete.

Nepal will play its second match against the host nation India on July 9, and their final group stage match will be against Pakistan on July 12.
