Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has stated that the government aims to include yoga and meditation in the curriculum, considering them as invaluable assets. He mentioned that the objective is to incorporate this subject from the primary level to university-level education.
Addressing a program organized in Kathmandu on the occasion of International Yoga Day, Prime Minister Prachanda emphasized the significance, tradition, and heritage of yoga and meditation, stating that the government aims to establish such objectives by acknowledging their importance and long-term role in spiritual contemplation.
Prime Minister Prachanda also highlighted the priceless heritage of yoga in Nepal. He mentioned, “The knowledge, science, and application of yoga can be observed not only in the construction of ancient cities and buildings here but also in monasteries, temples, sculptures, paintings, and various artifacts. We can witness the profound impact of yoga in the construction of stone bridges, wells, caves, and royal palaces. Thus, yoga is Nepal’s invaluable asset.”
He further explained that Nepal offers a beautiful landscape for the practice of yoga and holds immense potential to become the primary destination for scholars worldwide.
