Kathmandu : In the ongoing ICC World Cup Qualifiers, Nepal will compete against West Indies today (Thursday). Nepal, the reigning champions of the two-match One Day International and T20 World Cup, will have their first encounter with West Indies in the World Cup qualifiers. The match is scheduled to start at 1 PM local time in the Harare Sports Club, Zimbabwe.
Nepal has secured two points in the qualifying matches by playing two games. In the first match, Nepal suffered a defeat against Zimbabwe by eight wickets, while in the second match, Nepal lost to the United States by six wickets. Today, Nepal will play their final match of the group stage against the Netherlands on July 9.
West Indies, having played only one match so far, defeated the United States and also earned two points. Nepal is in Group A alongside Zimbabwe, America, West Indies, and the Netherlands.
Group B consists of Sri Lanka, Ireland, Scotland, Oman, and the UAE, with a total of 10 teams participating in the qualifiers.
The top three teams from the World Cup qualifiers will advance to the Super Six stage. After each team plays against each other in the Super Six, the top two teams will progress to the final. The final will be held in a One Day International World Cup, which will take place in India.
The hosts India, along with Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, Bangladesh, England, Afghanistan, and South Africa, have already secured their spots in the World Cup. Two more teams will qualify from this tournament to join them in the World Cup
