Myagdi : In Fulakharka, Ward No. 3 of Annapurna Rural Municipality in Myagdi, 45 sheep were killed by lightning.
The incident occurred in the goat shed belonging to Chak Bahadur Pun in Annapurna-3. The information about the death of 45 sheep due to lightning was provided by Prakash Jisi, an expert from the Livestock Service Section of Annapurna Rural Municipality. He stated, “As soon as the farmer informed us about the death of 45 sheep in the morning, we are preparing to visit the incident site.” Some goats, which were tied near a tree, were also slightly injured by the lightning.
Representatives from the Rural Municipality, police, and local authorities have visited the incident site.
Shyam Purja, a member of Ward No. 4 of Annapurna Rural Municipality, informed that significant damage had been caused to livestock worth more than 1.1 million rupees. The initial estimate suggests that the loss exceeds 1.1 million rupees.
