A Dhaakre Dai’ will be performing starting from August 5

kathmandu : The Nepali film ‘A Dhaakre Dai,’ which depicts the lifestyle of Dhakre community from nearly 60 years ago, is set to release on August 5.

The film is directed by Niranjan Kasaju (Mila). Kasaju, who is also the writer and producer, shared that he has portrayed the historical subject of over six decades in the film. He said, ‘At that time, Dhakre people used to descend from the hills, walk for one or two months, and come to the Batauli Bazaar to sell items like bamboo baskets, brooms, ghee, betel nuts, oil, clothes, etc.’

Kasaju expressed, ‘We have presented the same hardships and struggles experienced by our ancestors in the film.’

He aims to showcase the bygone rural life in the immediate past through this film.

The movie features Dhurba Koirela, Minuj Ranamagar, Maya Thami, Usha Poudel, among others. Suman Thapa and Vinod Chaudhary are the cinematographers, and the music is composed by Suresh Senchuri. The lyrics are by NK and Tejprasad Pandey, and Lokendra Shah and NK are the choreographers.

The editing of the film, produced by Unique Movies, is done by Vijay Pokharel and Vinod Chaudhary. The distribution is handled by RR Film Productions.”
