Chitwan : In Ratnanagar Municipality, Chitwan, the Mayor Entrepreneurship Development Program has been inaugurated. In the first phase, 38 selected individuals aspiring to become entrepreneurs were provided checks worth three lakhs in collaboration with Nepal Bank.
Mayor Pralad Sapkota emphasized the promotion of entrepreneurship by transferring checks to those facing financial difficulties. He mentioned that priority would be given to single women, marginalized communities, minorities, and Dalit women.
Saroj Khanal, the Chief of Tandi Branch of Nepal Bank Limited, joined the entrepreneurship program and challenged the participating entrepreneurs to showcase exemplary work.
After completing the necessary coordination and selection process with the municipality, the bank has agreed to provide a three lakh loan for a period of three years, with the municipality subsidizing the interest.
Each installment of the loan obtained by the entrepreneurs will be reduced by 25 thousand every three months, with the goal of repayment within three years. Badri Narayan Sharma, the Chief Administrative Officer of Ratnanagar Municipality, expressed the importance of entrepreneurship for development and emphasized the need to expand the Mayor Entrepreneurship Development Program.
As part of the program, financial management training was provided to the 38 selected entrepreneurs by Deependra Adhikari, the Chief of Loans at the Tandi Branch of Nepal Bank Limited.
