kathmandu : In the 14th SAFF Championship football tournament, today Nepal is playing against India. The match, scheduled to start at 8:00 PM Nepali time at the Shree Kantirava Stadium in Bangalore, has Nepal’s plan to secure the first victory. Similarly, India aims to defeat Nepal and advance to the semifinals.
The pressure is on Nepal to win today’s match in order to secure a spot in the semifinals. The game between former champion India and runner-up Nepal is expected to be thrilling. In their first match, Nepal was defeated by Kuwait, while India defeated Pakistan. So far, out of the 23 encounters between Nepal and India in previous championships, India has won 16 matches, and Nepal has only managed to win two matches. The remaining five matches ended in a draw. In the ongoing championship, India is currently at the top of Group A with three points, while Nepal is in third place with zero points.
The participating teams in the championship are Nepal, host country India, Bangladesh, Kuwait, Lebanon, Bhutan, Pakistan, Maldives, Kuwait, and Lebanon. Nepal will play its final group stage match against Pakistan on July 12.
