Kathmandu : The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, in its weather forecast, has stated that there is a possibility of widespread rainfall across the country today. Currently, the influence of a weak low-pressure system around the Uttar Pradesh region of India is also present in Nepal.
According to the department, the Karnali Province is undergoing significant changes, while partial to moderate changes are expected in the remaining regions. Generally, there will be normal fluctuations throughout the country. Some areas may experience light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms. Heavy rainfall is also possible in some locations of the Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces.
During the night, there will be partial to complete changes across the country. Many places in the country may experience light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms. The Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces are likely to experience heavy rainfall as well.
There will be general fluctuations and the possibility of light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms in many areas of the Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as in some regions of other provinces.
The Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpashchim provinces, along with some areas of the Koshi Province, have a high possibility of experiencing heavy rainfall.
Due to the heavy rainfall and the occurrence of thunderstorms, there is a risk of flooding, landslides, waterlogging, soil erosion, and increased river flow. The Department advises taking necessary precautions to prevent potential risks or damages in sectors such as transportation, aviation, agriculture, and tourism, which may be affected.
