Kathmandu: Nepali national team leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane is scheduled to appear in court today for a compensation case. The hearing on the compensation case will take place at the district court in Kathmandu.
According to the plaintiff’s request, today’s hearing will determine whether or not to grant compensation. Although the court had previously dismissed the plaintiff’s demand for a compensation of 1 million rupees, citing relief for the victim under the Supreme Court’s fund, the plaintiff has again filed a request for compensation at the district court in Kathmandu, after the Supreme Court directed the court to address the issue of compensation.
Subsequently, after the plaintiffs demanded an amount of around 36 thousand, the court had requested the hospital for an expense breakdown by sending a letter to the hospital where the victim received treatment.
The district court in Kathmandu had scheduled today’s hearing after receiving the doctor’s report from the hospital as per the request.
The final hearing of the rape case against Sandeep has been postponed. The hearing was adjourned due to Sandeep’s participation in the cricket World Cup qualifiers.”
