Navarparasi : Nawalpur (Bardaghat Susta East), 28 individuals who went for foreign employment in the span of a year have died. Until the current fiscal year, those who went for foreign employment from the district have lost their lives. According to Rituram Soti, the coordinator of the Safe Migration Program working in the field of foreign employment, 27 men and one woman have died in the order of foreign employment this year. Among those who lost their lives, seven are from Devchuli, six from Kawasoti, six from Madhyabindu, four from Gaindakot, three from Vinayi Triveni, and one from Hupsekot.

Ranjana Lamsal, a consultant in the program addressing the reasons for losing lives, mentioned that working under excessive pressure, working in stressful environments, and other factors contribute to the loss of lives. She also explained that due to the pressure of spending large sums of money when going abroad and the desire to earn more income, there have been several incidents while continuously working.

According to coordinator Soti, there have been a total of 188 registered cases related to foreign employment in Nawalpur in a year. The number of cases involving fraud is higher than any other category. Out of 188 cases, 118 are related to fraud. There are 30 cases related to rescue, 30 cases related to deaths, and 10 cases related to other natural incidents.

Through the Safe Migration Program, 81 cases have been resolved out of the registered cases, and compensation of NPR 32,060,000 has been provided to the victims, as informed by coordinator Soti. The program has been conducted in the district, providing access to information, access to justice, skills development training, psychosocial counseling, and financial literacy.
