Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs Shrestha’s visit to China

Kathmandu : Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha has embarked on a visit to China. He departed for China via a flight at 11:20 PM on Tuesday. At Tribhuvan International Airport, he was bid farewell by high-ranking officials and heads of security agencies. On Wednesday, he will participate in the inauguration ceremony of the Western China International Fair and also visit the Chengdu Exhibition, as per the schedule provided by the Secretariat.

On the same day, in the evening, a dinner reception organized by the Communist Party of China and the leaders of Sichuan Province is planned. On Friday, he will meet with the leadership of Sichuan University, where he will address Chinese, Nepali, and other foreign students studying there.

Afterward, he has a scheduled visit to the Hydraulic and Mountain River Engineering Laboratory at the university. On Saturday, he will observe the reconstruction work in the earthquake-affected Yinxiu and the ancient irrigation system in Jiping, as well as the Rural Revitalization Program.

He will return to Nepal on Saturday morning via a flight. The delegation accompanying Deputy Prime Minister includes Lok Bahadur Thapa, Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Rudradevi Sharma, Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs; Mahesh Baral, Secretary at the Ministry of Industry; and Sureshkaji Shrestha, Personal Secretary to Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha, among others.
