Kathmandu: Premier League club Arsenal has signed German forward Kai Havertz. Arsenal has secured a contract with Havertz from another London club, Chelsea, for £65 million for the next five years. This means Havertz will be playing for Arsenal until 2028. The 24-year-old Havertz spent three years at Stamford Bridge, where he won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.
In the 2021 Champions League final, Havertz scored the decisive goal when Chelsea defeated Manchester City.
During his time at Chelsea, he scored 19 goals in 91 appearances.
After a disappointing performance in the Champions League for the past six years, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, along with Havertz and some other players, is striving to build a stronger team.
Havertz thanked all the supporters of Chelsea and expressed his gratitude for fulfilling the dream of winning the Champions League together. He also mentioned that his sole goal is to win trophies for Arsenal as well.
