pokhara : The meeting of the National Coordination Council is taking place in Pokhara. Today, the first meeting of the council is being held at the National Coordination Council Secretariat, which is the office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers.
Under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, the council comprises representatives from various sectors such as finance, law, justice and parliamentary affairs, federal affairs including home, provincial government chief ministers, opposition party leader or nominated federal parliament member, and seven members from the rural municipality, municipality, or district coordination committee. They are legally mandated to coordinate and collaborate on matters of common interest.
Although the coordination council was established with the enactment of the Interprovincial and Local Level Coordination and Interrelation Act, 2077, its meeting had not been held until now.
The National Coordination Council, with its authority to coordinate among the federal, provincial, and local levels in matters ranging from law and policy formulation to the implementation of major programs, held its first meeting.
This is the first meeting of the National Coordination Council as per the Interprovincial and Local Level Coordination and Interrelation Act, 2077, which was recently enacted. The council has the authority to coordinate among the three tiers of government in matters of ambiguity and shared jurisdiction, aiming to resolve issues related to law, policy, and others.
