Kathmandu : Kathmandu Metropolitan City conducts the scholarship selection exam for students from schools within Kathmandu Metropolitan City. Starting from the upcoming fiscal year, the scholarship selection exam for grade 11 students distributed by private schools within the metropolitan will be conducted by the metropolitan itself.
According to Mayor Balen, after the exam, scholarships will be provided based on eligibility criteria, considering factors such as students from economically disadvantaged, marginalized, backward regions, and indigenous communities studying in community schools.
He mentioned that according to the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Education Act 2075 and the Education Bylaws 2074, the scholarship distribution for grade 11 students by private schools within Kathmandu Metropolitan City will be conducted through a student selection exam starting from the academic year 2080-81, to be carried out by the metropolitan itself.
