Kathmandu : The Prime Minister (PM) Cup National Women’s and Men’s Club Football Tournament’s seventh edition starts today. The opening ceremony of the tournament, organized by the All Nepal Football Association, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda.
The inaugural matches will take place at Tripureshwor-based Rangashala Stadium at 8 AM. The competition will feature Nepal Police Club and Gandaki Province in the women’s category, while Tribhuvan Army and Shailung Baglung Club will compete in the men’s category.
The tournament, which will run until Ashar 30, will include six women’s teams and seven men’s teams. The women’s teams include Nepal Police Club, New Diamond Sports Club, Nepal APF Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, Gandaki Province, and Everest Club. Similarly, in the men’s category, there are Help Nepal, Army, APF, Police, Gandaki, Dauphins Milan Club, and Shailung Baglung Club.
The top four teams in both categories will receive cash prizes, with the first, second, third, and fourth place teams receiving Rs. 600,000, Rs. 300,000, Rs. 150,000, and Rs. 75,000, respectively.
