Janakpur : A person’s death occurred due to an electric current while going to irrigate the fields in Dhanusha. The deceased has been identified as Suryadev Thakur Barahi, a 55-year-old resident of Kamala Municipality-2 in Dhanusha, as informed by the police.
On Sunday morning at around 5 o’clock, when he went to irrigate the paddy seeds in his field using a motor, he came into contact with a live electric wire and died due to the electric shock. According to locals, the incident took place when Thakur touched a naked wire while going to his field. Satyanarayan Yadav, who witnessed the incident, said that the wire was hanging low, and Satyanarayan Yadav has been reported as absconding after cutting the wire.
The body has been kept at Janakpur’s Regional Hospital for post-mortem, and an investigation is underway with the search for Satyanarayan Yadav, as informed by DSP Ved Prasad Gautam, the spokesperson of the police in Dhanusha.
