Kathmandu : The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division, has recently announced the impact of monsoon winds in the country. The minimum monsoon trough is currently positioned slightly south of the western border and slightly north of the eastern border (near Nepal). According to the division, there are ongoing significant changes in the Koshi, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim Provinces, ranging from moderate to complete transformation, while partial to normal changes are observed in the remaining regions. Light to moderate rainfall is occurring in some places of the Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim Provinces.
During the daytime, there will be partial to general changes across the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall in some places of the Koshi and Sudurpashchim Provinces, including thunderstorms and heavy showers. At night, there will be general changes throughout the country. The possibility of light to moderate rainfall is expected in some places of the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces, as well as in a few places of other provinces.
There is a possibility of heavy rainfall, including thunderstorms and showers, in some places of the Koshi and Gandaki Provinces. There is also a possibility of strong winds in certain areas of Madhesh and Lumbini Provinces. Light to moderate rainfall is expected in some places across all provinces.
In the Koshi, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall, including thunderstorms and showers. This may affect areas such as road and air transportation, health services, agriculture, tourism, and daily life.
Due to heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, gusty winds, flooding, landslides, and earthquake-related risks, it is essential to exercise caution and take necessary precautions as advised by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology to mitigate potential hazards or damages.
