Nepal’s Member of Parliament Sovita Gautam has won the prestigious Youth Award

Kathmandu: Sovita Gautam, the youngest Member of Parliament in Nepal, has been awarded the prestigious “Politician of the Year” award by the organization Van Yon World, based in the UK. She becomes the first Nepali to receive this renowned award.

As a directly elected MP from Constituency No. 2 in Kathmandu, Gautam has outshined many young politicians from around the world to win this award. The announcement of her victory was made through the official website of the organizing institution based in the UK.

Her exceptional work for the welfare of her country and community, influencing positively in public’s favor, and inspiring young leadership not only in Nepal but also in other countries have been recognized as the basis for her remarkable achievement in the competition.

Every year, eligible young politicians from around the world are involved in the competition, and distinguished scholars decide the winner. The award recipient, MP Sovita Gautam from Nepal, will be honored during a grand ceremony organized by the institution in the UK from 2nd to 5th October.

The institution has taken a crucial step in recognizing distinguished personalities from various fields, focusing on human rights and freedom of expression, as the award winner includes a renowned human rights and political scholar from Zambia, the first female President of Costa Rica, a legal and international tribunal judge from Haiti, and a professor at Columbia University in the United States.
