Kathmandu: The Bhansar Office located at Tribhuvan International Airport has seized more than four kilograms of gold resembling pure gold. This gold was confiscated from a Thai citizen who arrived in Kathmandu along with another Thai citizen, both carrying a quantity of gold that appeared to be more than four kilograms.
According to an official at the Bhansar Office, the Thai citizen had hidden the pure gold in the form of ten bar-shaped biscuits inside his bag. He stated, “We have seized gold that looks similar to pure gold, resembling ten bar-shaped biscuits. Whether it is genuine gold or not, for testing purposes, the confiscated gold has been sent to the Bhansar Department located in Tripureshwar.”
The Thai citizen, Sawan, claims that the seized gold is not pure gold and that he had brought it for religious purposes. However, the officials at the Bhansar Office have asserted that the confiscated gold appears to be genuine gold.
