In various villages of Guthi Chaur Rural Municipality-4, an unknown group has carried out an arson attack at seven different houses. The ward chairman Tikadatt Nyaula informed that the incident occurred in houses belonging to Prem Nyaula and Khadand Pandey in Dhawalpur village, Kavidatta Nyaula in Baouli village, Kavidatta Nyaula in Dandabadam, Lalchandra Sarki in Dalibadam, and Bhim Prasad Jaishi in Bigare village.
Similar incidents of arson have also been reported in Dhit and Depal villages, including a tractor set on fire. Most of the damage has been reported at the house of Kavidatta Nyaula in Dandabadam.
“The arson attack was carried out by an unknown group using Molotov cocktails and petrol,” said the chairman, adding that many houses have been affected by the fire.
DSP Prahlad Karki from the district informed that a police team has been dispatched to the incident site as soon as they got the news of the arson attack.
“The police have been mobilized in various villages where the arson attacks have taken place. The extent of damage is yet to be assessed,” he said.
Guthi Chaur Rural Municipality Chairman Dan Bahadur Budhathoki expressed concern over the increasing incidents of such nature and said that security challenges have escalated in the area.
“We are working on developing security mechanisms to address such incidents and ensure the safety of the people,” he stated
