Kathmandu : Nepali player Sandip Lamichhane’s outstanding performance helped the Jaguarsal Cricket Club secure their second victory in the Global T20 Canada. In the thrilling match against Mississauga Panthers, Sandip took an excellent 3 wickets, leading his team to defeat the opponents by 55 runs.
With this win, the Jaguarsal climbed to the third position in the standings. Batting first, they scored 164 runs in the allotted 20 overs, losing 6 wickets. Jitendra Singh contributed with a half-century of 57 runs, supported by Alex Hales’ 39 runs, and Liton Das’ 25 runs.
Mississauga’s Jovar Khan took 3 wickets, while Jaskaran Singh and Cameron Delport claimed one wicket each. Chasing the target of 165 runs, Mississauga could only manage to score 109 runs, losing all their wickets in just 17 overs. Sandip and Spencer Johnson each took three wickets, effectively containing the opponents. Mathew Ford grabbed 2 wickets, while Ayan Khan and Amar Khalid claimed one wicket each.
Sandip’s exceptional spell included dismissing Cameron Delport, who scored the highest 33 runs off 12 balls before getting out in the last over. James Nisham didn’t even get a chance to bat, as Sandip’s superb bowling closed the game for the Pavilion team.
Six teams are participating in the tournament, and the final match is scheduled for August 6th.
