Kathmandu : The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has recently informed that there is a partial impact of the monsoon wind in Nepal. The low-pressure line of the monsoon is currently located to the south of the Sardar station.
Due to this weather system, there is a possibility of continuous rainfall for a few more days, as stated by meteorologist Vinu Maharjan. In many places around the country, including Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, there is a chance of heavy rainfall with thunder and lightning. Similarly, in some places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Lumbini provinces, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall with thunder and lightning during the night.
Although the monsoon entered Nepal on Jestha 31 last year, it did not bring continuous heavy rainfall. For the past two days, the country has been experiencing light to moderate rainfall in most places, as mentioned by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
Due to the potential occurrence of heavy rainfall with thunder and lightning, there is a request from the Department for people to be cautious and take necessary precautions to avoid risks or damages from possible floods, landslides, hailstorms, and soil erosion.
According to the analysis by the Hydrology and Meteorology Department, from Asar 6 until now, the country has received 37% of the total monsoon rainfall.
From Jestha 18 until Asar 5, there has been 538.2 millimeters of rainfall in the country. Throughout the monsoon season, Nepal usually receives around 1,462 millimeters of rainfall, as reported by the department
