Kathmandu: Actor Rajesh Hamal has returned to Kathmandu after a two-month-long trip to America. During his visit to various American states, he also met the Nepali community.

Likely inspired by his recent trip to America, Hamal has announced the launch of a new television series. In this TV series, he plans to present the success stories of Nepalis living abroad.

In an interview with Himalaya TV HD, during the program “From Darkness to Light,” Hamal revealed his intention to produce this new TV series. He said, “It’s not just for me, but for Nepali television, this will be a new experience. In the past two decades, a significant number of Nepalis have migrated abroad. There are also success stories among them. This series will highlight their achievements.”

He added, “In the field I have chosen, they are active. I am preparing to bring Nepali citizens from different backgrounds to the forefront. It will be an inspiring and fascinating tale.”

When asked if he could create a similar success story for those who have stayed in Nepal, Hamal replied, “It might not be easy for Nepalis who start from scratch while trying to make it big in America. Even if you go by plane from Nepal, success is not guaranteed. People who have settled in Nepal have achieved significant accomplishments in various sectors. They have become entrepreneurs, leading a good life. This can inspire others to become global chefs.”

Hamal is currently busy working on an English-language Nepali film, “Mayako Maya.” The film is 80% complete, and the remaining shooting is scheduled to be done at Rara Lake. He will soon be departing for Rara.

Hamal explained his decision to make a film in English language, calling it an evolutionary process of his career. “When I started making films, I did not imagine I would make another one after that. Now I have made this film, which focuses on sexual and psychological subjects, in an inclusive way.”

“It is entirely a Nepali subject they have taken up. That does not mean we all artists are speaking in English. Still, the film will be Nepali,” he added. The film also features Anana Sharma and Anup Bikram Shahi in lead roles
