Today’s Weather: Rain expected in five provinces

kathmandu : The influence of monsoon winds in Nepal, along with the low-pressure system around northern Chhattisgarh, has a partial effect on the weather. The minimum pressure line of the monsoon is situated to the south of the western region and to the north and east of the central region. The eastern part of this line is gradually moving towards the north from the western region.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Weather Forecasting Division, currently, there is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall in some places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and in one or two places in other provinces. Partial to normal changes in the weather will persist throughout the country. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall with thunder and lightning in one or two places of Gandaki, Bagmati, and Sudurpashchim provinces. Terai areas of Lumbini, Gandaki, and Bagmati provinces, as well as some places in Sudurpashchim and Madhes provinces, may also experience windstorms.

Light to moderate rainfall is possible in some places of all provinces. Additionally, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall with thunder and lightning in one or two places of Lumbini, Gandaki, Bagmati, and Koshi provinces. Terai regions of Lumbini, Gandaki, Bagmati, and Koshi provinces, as well as some places in Sudurpashchim and Madhes provinces, may also experience windstorms. This could result in increasing river water levels, flash floods, landslides, and wind damages, posing risks to public health, agriculture, daily life, road and air traffic, and necessitating cautiousness to prevent harm or loss
