The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has informed that along with the monsoon, the influence of a low-pressure system around Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh of India is prevailing in most parts of Nepal.
The sub-tropical low-pressure belt of the monsoon is currently located to the north and west of the Sardar region from the Eastern part.
According to the department, currently, some areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, a few places in Koshi province, and some places in other provinces are experiencing light to moderate rainfall.
During the daytime, the situation is expected to remain generally the same across the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall in some places of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
There is also a possibility of heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some places of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. The hilly regions of Koshi and Madhesh provinces may also witness hailstorms.
The department has requested everyone to be cautious about potential impacts such as rising river water levels, flash floods, landslides, and windstorm-related damages to ensure public health, agriculture, daily life, road, and air transportation safety
