Kathmandu: The Nepal Tennis Association has selected four female players for the upcoming King’s Cup Tennis tournament.
Abhilasha Visht, Mahika Rana, Sunira Thapa, and Rayana Shah have been selected from the qualifying competition held in Satdobato, as informed by Ajay Visht, a member of the Nepal Tennis Association.
Abhilasha, Mahika, and Sunira have been chosen as participants for the 19th Asian Games to be held in Hangzhou, China, from September 23 to October 8. The King’s Cup will take place from October 16 to 21 in Bhairahawa.
Nepal has previously participated in age-group competitions in this tournament. However, this time Nepal is aiming to compete at the senior level.
After the International Tennis Federation upgraded Nepal to Class ‘B’, member Visht shared that this opens the path for Nepal to compete at the senior level. Previously, Nepal was in Class ‘C’.
