Kathmandu : The movie ‘Metropolis’ (One Night in Kathmandu) that participated in various international film festivals along with Nepal has released its promotional material (trailer) to the public.
The trailer, featuring the lead actors Karma and Menuka Pradhan, revolves around the efforts to present the dreams and reality of a youth residing within the metropolis through two characters. The film’s writer and director, Mohan Rai, revealed that the movie depicts the transformation brought about in the lives of the two characters due to a small incident.
He mentioned, “I have tried to portray the dreams of the youth trapped in the metropolis who are struggling to survive and confront their inner conflicts. The idea of depicting my own experiences and the struggles of the youth through the camera lens compelled me to create this movie. Particularly, the movies ‘Human Connection’ and ‘Hope’ were instrumental in this.”
The movie features performances by Anoj Pandey, Sovita Adhikari, Jeevan Baral, Prakshhit Bikram Rana, Chandrapandey, Raj Poudel, and others. Narendra Mainali handled cinematography, Prakshhit Jha worked on editing, Kishor Archaya managed sound editing, and Puspa Sangam contributed to the music in the film.”
