Kathmandu : The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Weather Forecasting Division, has indicated the presence of a weak low-pressure system along with the monsoonal wind around Nepal. The area of the weak low-pressure system associated with monsoon winds is located north of the Sub-Tropical Ridge (near Nepal).
According to the department, the current weather patterns across the country suggest light to moderate rainfall occurring in some places of provinces such as Madhesh, Bagmati, and Karnali, and sporadically in some places of other provinces.
During the daytime, similar weather conditions will persist across the country, with the possibility of light to moderate rainfall in several locations. There is a chance of heavy rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, in some areas of provinces like Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim.
For the night, generally similar changing weather is expected. There is a chance of light to moderate rainfall in some places of Koshi and Lumbini provinces and sporadically in other provinces. Heavy rain, along with thunder and lightning, is possible in some areas of Koshi and Lumbini provinces.
Light to moderate rainfall is likely in some places of all provinces. There is a chance of heavy rain, along with thunder and lightning, in some places of provinces like Koshi, Madhesh, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim.
Due to the monsoon, the increase in river water levels, the possibility of flash floods, landslides, erosion, and soil erosion can pose health, agriculture, daily life, road, and air traffic-related risks. The Meteorological Department has urged people to adopt necessary precautions to protect themselves from inconvenience, danger, or harm and to stay vigilant.”
