Istanbul : Aftershock of earthquake hits Turkey. A 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck the southern region of Turkey on Thursday night.

According to media reports, the earthquake has caused significant damage to many buildings, and at least 23 people are reported to be injured. The epicenter of the earthquake is reported to be in the city of Yesilyurt in the Malatya province. Reports through communication channels also indicate that the impact of the earthquake has been felt in Adiyaman.

Turkey’s Health Minister, Fahrettin Koca, posted on a social media platform that people have been injured as buildings collapsed in Malatya and Adiyaman. Some people have been trapped under buildings as they fell to escape the earthquake.

Similarly, a video broadcast on local TV shows the scene of buildings shaking due to the earthquake.

Both locations were also affected by a destructive earthquake that occurred in February, which claimed the lives of over 50,000 people.
