kathmandu : Khushi Karki, the Nepali girl from ‘My Dance Universe’, has successfully reached the finals of the ‘Myanmar-Thailand’ edition of the dance competition.
Representing Thailand and Myanmar, she has gracefully showcased her talents on the path of reality shows, steadily advancing towards the finals.
Among the 16 participants selected from Thailand auditions for ‘My Voice Universe’ and ‘My Dance Universe’, she is the only Nepali contestant to make it to the top five in ‘My Dance Universe’.
The achievements of Khushi Karki have not gone unnoticed. She has been running her race on the journey of ‘My Dance Universe’. Nepali diaspora around the world continues to root for her in ‘Khushi’ (Happiness).
Nepali speakers from Myanmar, Thailand, and Nepal are united in their support, saying, “Vote for Khushi Karki. Congratulations, Khushi Karki. Congratulations, Nepali daughter.”
A substantial number of Nepali-speaking individuals of Nepali origin reside in Thailand and Myanmar. In these two large nations, they maintain the essence of Nepali identity.
To support Khushi Karki’s victory, Nepali Association in Thailand has initiated a cultural campaign in Nepal, Thailand, and Myanmar.
“Representing Thailand and Myanmar, Khushi Karki has reached the finals of ‘My Dance Universe’. Please vote for her. This is a matter of our happiness,” expressed Deepak Parajuli through social media.
Nepali speakers in Thailand and Burma celebrate cultural festivals like Teej and Tihar for a week, keeping their Nepali heritage alive. In Myanmar, and in Thailand, the Nepali diaspora proudly displays their Nepali identity. Among them is Khushi Karki, the Nepali daughter born in Nepal.
Kumar Karki, former president of the Thai-Nepali Association and a social worker, urges people to vote for Khushi Karki, saying, “Khushi Karki is a symbol of Thailand and Myanmar. She possesses thousands of talents, but lacks opportunities. We have played an important role in promoting and spreading Nepali arts, culture, and language. By preserving Nepali language and culture, we maintain Nepali identity.”
