Kathmandu : West Indies has won the five-match T20 International series against India. In a decisive match played on Saturday night at the home ground, West Indies clinched victory over India by 8 wickets. West Indies has won the series against India after 6 years.
Chasing India’s target of 166 runs for victory, West Indies achieved the target in 18 overs with 2 wickets remaining. West Indies opener Brandon King played an unbeaten innings of 85 runs. Similarly, Nicholas Pooran scored 47 and Shai Hope made 22 runs.
Earlier, after winning the toss and choosing to bat, India scored 165 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. India’s Suryakumar Yadav played a half-century innings of 61 runs. Likewise, Tilak Baram scored 27 runs.
West Indies’ Romario Shepherd took the most 4 wickets, while spinners Akeal Hosein and Jason Holder took 2 wickets each.
In the first match, West Indies won by four wickets, and in the second match, they won by 2 wickets. In the following two matches, India emerged victorious with 7 wickets and 9 wickets respectively.”
