Kathmandu : The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division, has announced that the monsoon low-pressure system is currently situated north of the mid-hill region, extending from a point slightly to the north of Sardar station.
According to the division, light to moderate rainfall is occurring in some places of the Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces’ hilly regions.
During the daytime, there will be partial to normal changes throughout the country. Some places in the Koshi and Gandaki provinces and a few places in the remaining provinces have a slight to moderate chance of rain.
During the night, partial to normal changes are expected across the country. Some places in the Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as a few places in the other provinces, have a slight to moderate chance of rain. In addition, the Koshi and Madhesh provinces have a chance of heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in some places.

Due to the monsoon, there is a possibility of rivers’ water levels rising, flash floods, landslides, and soil erosion, which could pose health, agricultural, daily life, road, and air traffic disruptions, risks, or damages. The Meteorological Forecasting Division urges everyone to take necessary precautions to stay safe and be vigilant.
