Bharatpur: Dr. Shivjee Paudel has been appointed as the Executive Director of Bharatpur Cancer Hospital. According to the information provided by Dr. Anil Bikram Karki, a member of the Hospital Management Committee, Dr. Paudel was selected as the Executive Director in a meeting held on Monday morning.
According to Karki, Dr. Krishna Sagar Sharma and Dr. Pradeep Nyupane’s names were recommended, among others. Among them, Dr. Paudel was appointed.
As per the hospital’s regulations, the Management Committee forms a recommendation committee for the selection of the Executive Director. A three-member subcommittee, consisting of Dr. Madan Upadhyay, Dr. Pradeep Gyawali, and Dr. Dinesh Vishwakarma, had been formed. The term of the Executive Director is three years. Dr. Paudel is a medical oncologist at the hospital and also serves as the Vice-Chairperson of the Nepal Medical Council.
The hospital had been without an Executive Director for the past three and a half months. The absence of an Executive Director had affected the services at the hospital. The hospital’s pharmacy had run out of medicines provided by the government under the insurance and needy support service. There had been a shortage of daily-use health supplies at the hospital.
