Pokhara : In Pokhara, preparations are underway for the National Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Championship, which will be the last event of Bhadra.
As per the announcement by the New Ideal Community Development Society Lamachaur Pokhara, the National Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Championship will be held from Bhadra 30 to Ashoj 1, coinciding with the grand occasion of Hari Talika Teej, celebrating the greatness of Nepali women.
The competition will take place at the sports ground of Indra Rajyashree Secondary School in Lamachaur. According to the organizers, both men’s and women’s teams from five different districts will participate in the tournament.
The President of the New Ideal Community Development Society, Swagatman Singh Bhandari, shared this information. He stated that the women’s competition will feature five teams, including Nepal Police Club, Nepali Army’s Tribhuvan Army Club, Armed Police Force Club, New Diamond Academy from Kathmandu, and Butwal’s New Everest Volleyball Club. On the other hand, the men’s competition will include Nepal Police Club, Armed Police Force Club’s APF Club, Gandaki Province, Manimukund Club Butwal, and Baglung’s Galkot Sports Club.
In the National Volleyball Championship, the winning men’s and women’s teams will receive a cash prize of NPR 1,50,111 along with trophies, medals, and certificates. The second-place teams will receive NPR 1,11,111, and the third-place teams will be awarded NPR 50,111, in addition to trophies, medals, and certificates.
The Teej festival celebration event will also feature other activities such as the Sitore Karate competition, inter-school folk dance competition, inter-women’s group Teej song competition, and cultural programs.
The former President of the society, Buddhivadhur Khatri, highlighted that such sports events contribute to the overall development of sports in society and also promote various social activities.
