Kathmandu : In the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Region Qualifier, Thailand has set a target of 106 runs against Nepal in the semifinal.

Thailand, batting first after losing the toss to Malaysia, scored 105 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Thailand’s Natthakan Chantham played a brilliant half-century innings of 59 runs. Similarly, Nattaya Boochatham contributed 31 runs.

Nepal’s Kavita Kunwar and Puja Mahato took one wicket each. In today’s match, if Nepal manages to defeat Thailand, they will reach the Global T20 Qualifier for the first time.

In today’s game, Nepal aims to secure a place in the Global Qualifiers for the Women’s World Cup 2024 along with winning the match.

However, it won’t be easy to defeat Thailand, who played in the World Cup in 2020 and has shown outstanding performance recently.

Since 2013, Nepal has not been able to secure a place in the Global Qualifiers despite starting in the Global Qualifiers.

In the other semifinal, Group B runner-up Hong Kong is facing Group A winner UAE. The final of the competition will be held tomorrow.”
