Kathmandu : The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Weather Forecasting Division, has currently indicated the presence of the monsoon’s low-pressure trough to the south of the country.
According to the department, there is currently partial to general cloudiness prevailing across the nation. Additionally, some areas in the Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces are experiencing light rainfall.
Throughout the daytime, some places across the country are expected to experience normal changes in weather. Clouds, along with light to moderate rainfall, are likely to be observed in some locations in the Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as in a few places in other provinces. Gusty winds are possible in certain areas of the Terai region.
During the night, the weather is expected to remain partially to generally cloudy across the country. Some areas in the Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as a few places in other provinces, may witness clouds, along with light to moderate rainfall. There is a possibility of gusty winds in some areas of the Terai region.
Due to the monsoon, the water level in rivers may increase slightly, and potential impacts such as landslides, floods, landslips, food shortages, and disruptions to public health, agriculture, daily life, road, and air transportation may occur. The Weather Forecasting Division has advised taking necessary precautions to mitigate the risks associated with heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and other monsoon-related hazards.”
