The number of casualties in the destructive earthquake in Morocco reached 2,100

Morocco : In Morocco, in the largest earthquake in a decade, the death toll has reached 2,122. In the Al Haouz region, the death toll is the highest, with 1,293 people confirmed dead. There are also 2,059 people injured in the earthquake, with 1,444 of them in critical condition.

The earthquake has caused significant damage in the historic city of Marrakech and surrounding areas. Rescue efforts are underway in the hardest-hit areas, and the death toll may continue to rise. The government has declared three days of national mourning.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization estimates that three lakh people will be affected by the earthquake. In Morocco, the signs of destruction are visible immediately after the most devastating earthquake in six decades. Hospitals are overflowing with bodies.

Additionally, those who have survived the destructive earthquake are searching for their loved ones amidst the rubble. The Moroccan government has announced the provision of food and drink to the affected people with military assistance. Under the direction of King Mohammed IV, the military is conducting a special search and rescue operation to save people from the rubble.

The Ministry of Home Affairs in Morocco has reported that mud houses in rural areas have been completely destroyed. Due to the destruction, many roads are blocked. Approximately 10 bodies are lying outside hospitals, and relatives are waiting to bury them.

Remember that last Friday night, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck this North African country. In this earthquake, more than two thousand people have died so far. According to the US Geological Survey, in the powerful earthquake that hit the country in 1960, 12,000 people died.
